The guest house is owner managed, offering superb hospitality with great attention to detail.
The accommodation comprises of 3 Luxury cottages (1 double), 2 garden suites and 1 family unit, set in 1,5 hectares of luxuriant gardens with much indigenous flora and an abundance of birdlife.
Spacious guest areas in and around the historic house where one can relax and enjoy a drink in the lounge, on the patios or the veranda overlooking the gardens.
A memorable breakfast is given under the vines in summer and in front of the log fire in winter.
Swellendam is the jewel of the Overberg and the 3rd oldest settlement in South Africa situated halfway between Cape Town and the start of the Garden Route. Its renowned for its architecture, fascinating history, potters and great outdoor life. Situated 240 km from Cape Town and George on the Garden route.
The area offers a variety of scenic routes which includes:
De Hope Nature Reserve for whale watching and its pristine beaches.
The Tradouw pass to Barrydale, linking the Overberg to the Little Karoo.
Local wine route with some outstanding award winning wines.
Bontebok National Park, only 7 km from Swellendam
Golf : Well-maintained 9-hole golf course. Picturesque setting with fantastic views over the Langeberg mountains.

1 Protea:
Spacious family suite. Main bedroom with queen-size bed leading into lounge area with fire place. Off the main bedroom a 2nd smaller bedroom with single bed.(an extra mattress can be added for 2nd child). Both have own entrance to shared spacious bathroom with Victorian bath and separate shower.
Ocher floors and woodenceiling. Air-conditioning (heating and cooling), fans, safe, Music station and TV. Private patio and parking.
2.Klapperbos:
Bedroom with double bed, intimate bathroom with shower only, in National Monument. Yellow wood shutters and beams, handmade terracotta tiled floor, reed ceiling. Veranda in front of room overlooking the garden. This room is next to the breakfast area used in winter and bad weather
3. Aloe:
Garden suite with single beds or king-size bed. Please specify your choice. Bathroom with shower only. Lounge with fireplace. French doors on to private patio. Wall to wall carpet, reed ceiling.
Air-conditioning (heating and cooling), fan, music station and TV in room
4. Strelitzia:
Private free standing garden honeymoon suite with queen-size bed. Romantic bathroom with big bath and separate shower. Lounge with fireplace. French doors opening to private patio. Ochre floor, reed ceiling. Close but private from pool. Hot and cold air-conditioning, fan, music station. (no television)
5 & 6.
Red-hot poker: A spacious luxury thatched roofed cottage. Built in old style i.e. thick walls, thick wooden beams, reed ceiling, wooden floor. 2 bedrooms en suite, both with private entrance and patio. 1 with shower above bath and 1 with shower only. Single or king size beds (please state preference). TV and music station in rooms, fans. Lounge with fireplace and balcony. Safe private parking.
7 & 8 Arum & Varkoor:
Two luxury cottages, built in old style, i.e. thick walls, reed ceilings. Bedroom with king-size beds and bathroom with double basins, spa-bath and big walk-in shower. Lounge with fire place. Private patio and parking. Air-conditioning (heating and cooling), fan, music station and satellite TV.
