Description:
The accommodation comprises of 2 fully equipped, self catering chalets with DSTV, fireplace and private patio. 6 Luxury suites with lounge area, en-suite bathroom, DSTV, under floor heating or fire place, high quality linen, bar fridge and patio. Cosy Pub and Restaurant offers a la carte menu and light meals.
Self Catering:
Zebra Cottage.
A luxurious, thatched lodge of 140 square meters with a large veranda overlooking the trout dam and wonderful views of the gorge.
The house comprises lounge, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and cloakroom. There are two bedrooms with full bathrooms en suite and a loft room which can either serve as a family room or a further bedroom to sleep 2. Additional features are DSTV, fireplace in lounge, private braai area. Sleeps 4 - 6.
Kingfisher Cottage.
A luxurious, thatched lodge of 140 square meters situated on the bank of the Komati River . The house comprises an open plan lounge, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and downstairs cloakroom. Two bedrooms with full bathrooms en suite and a further room suitable for 3 children. Sleeps 4-7
Additional features are DSTV, fireplace in lounge, private braai area, right on the river.
Leopard suites, a new concept in South Africa!
The convenience of being independent without sacrificing luxury. The suites are romantically decorated with a canopied bed, lounge area with fire place, dining area and a tiny fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with huge bath (some of which are spa baths) and separate loo. Sleeps 2.
Additional features are DSTV, high quality linen and soft furnishing, private patio with braai.
Firefly 2:
Similar to Firefly 1 but a bit bigger, it comprises a large bedroom with lounge area and full en-suite bathroom. Two day beds in an alcove, suitable for children. A spacious lounge with open plan kitchen and dining area. Veranda with braai facilities and a hammock to relax in.

River Lodge suites
Four stunning double suites comprising bedroom with lounge area. Full en-suite bathroom with romantic, corner bath and separate loo. Additional features are DSTV, fireplace, high quality linen and soft furnishings, bar fridge and private patio. These suites are situated at the water’s edge of the Komati River and the views are magnificent. Sleeps 2
One room has 2 x ¾ beds, the rest are double.

The cosy pub and restaurant offers a good selection of South Africa’s favourite foods and wines. Light pub meals and salads are also available.
Join us for big sporting events on TV or enjoy sundowners on the veranda overlooking the Komati River.
Breakfast Room/ Intimate Dining Room
Small intimate dinning room for quiet, relaxed meals, also used as breakfast room. Cosy fireplace for cold winter evenings and mornings.
Conference facilities
Conference facilities for up 16 persons not sharing bedrooms. Can accommodate up to 25 guests on a day visit. The restaurant can arrange all meals and teas.

Enjoy a complementary sherry while you curl up in front of the fire on a cold winter’s night or relax in the cool of the thatch on a hot summers evening.

Komati Gorge is located between Carolina and Machadodorp. Over 5 kms of the Komati River winds its way through the gorge, and the property of over 1100 ha boasts beautiful cliffs, krantzes, rolling hills, thorn bushveld and other natural woodland as well as highveld grassland. This biodiversity creates a perfect environment for the prolific bird life and other naturally occurring fauna and flora.
