Thatchings is a family run guest house and small conference venue situated three kilometres from the N3 highway and close to the Drakensberg mountains.
Situated on 135 acres there are enchanting gardens and trout dams. Relax quietly and enjoy our birdlife or spot the Duiker and Reedbuck - as long as the monkeys do not frighten them away.
Thatchings is minutes from Boschoek Golf Course and is part of the delightful Midlands Meander : South Africa's premier Arts and Crafts route.
Fresh flowers, books and magazines, goose down duvets, television , tea and coffee and home-made rusks add to the comfort of our seven large en-suite bedrooms (heated in winter !).
Have a pre-dinner drink in the lounge or a sundowner on the verandah overlooking the dams, before sampling the delights of the dining room.
Not a spot for a social whirl, but rather a quiet, gentle place to ease body, mind and soul.
Enjoy trout fishing in our dams, a quiet game of snooker or choose a book from our library and curl up in front of a log fire. Thatchings is popular for small board meetings and think-tanks. A professional snooker table is available for evening relaxation.
